I bought the leash for my puppy mix of Herder and Malinois. I wanted leather lead for training, which would be not very heavy for his collar, but still reliable. This leash 1/2 inch wide is ideal. It is soft from the very beginning, edges are smooth and there are no pinches. I ordered the one 5 feet long as I had wanted to use it as a double up leash 2.5 feet in length for dog walking at my side in most cases. Multifunctional snap hooks are really practical to make the lead longer, to wrap around waist for dog control even when I need my hands free. I had purchased also the leash 2 cm wide of the same length to use it when my dog will grow up and got equal quality and soft leather again. I use it for my other 2 dogs walking as a coupler and don't take 2 leashes.
